David J Schlactus, D.M.D.
Dr. David J Schlactus graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, located on the upper east side of Manhattan, before entering private practice. After five years of living in New York City, he and his wife Stacy decided to move to Montgomery County, where Stacy grew up, in order to start and raise a family. Dr. David purchased his current practice in February 2000 and has maintained and grown this thriving general dental practice created by his predecessors. For the past six years, he has focused his practice on preventative care and patient education. He continually pursues and perfects his special interests in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Schlactus loves having a true family practice. He has been selected by his peers/colleagues as one of the best dentists in the area, as well by his patients in Checkbook Magazine.
Active in Continuing Education, Dr. Schlactus is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society, Alpha Omega, an international Jewish dental fraternity and is President elect of the local chapter of Alpha Omega.
Cindy, Financial and Treatment Coordinator
Cindy has been in the dental field for over 23 years. She has been with the practice for 14 years and has worked with Dr. Schlactus for the past six years. Her expertise in treatment planning and financial arrangements is extensive and she can tell you how to best to utilize your insurance benefits to attain the smile you always wanted. Cindy has taken and continues to take numerous courses to help better service you in health care management. She is currently a Notary Public through the State of Maryland, as well as a compliance officer for HIPPA. Cindy is our team leader and can answer almost any question regarding our practice or dentistry in general.
Blanka, Front Desk Administrator
Blanka has been with Dr. Schlactus almost two years and has the arduous task of managing and confirming all appointments. Originally from Czeckoslovakia, she has a master's degree in literature and social science. She is a wonderful person, a team player and very approachable. She would be pleased to assist you in any way necessary and is devoted to the overall satisfaction of all our patients.
Krisi, Dental Hygienist
Krisi is a native of the Washington, D.C. area. She graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1992 from the Community College of Baltimore. She has served on the Board of Masters for the Student American Dental Hygienist Association, the Montgomery County Dental Hygienists Association and was on the Board of Trustees for the Montgomery County Volunteer Dental Clinic. Krisi has volunteered many hours for the American Red Cross and is currently a CPR instructor for health care providers. She joined the practice in 1994 and after a brief interlude elsewhere, rejoined with Dr. Schlactus in 2002. Loved by her patients, Krisi provides preventative hygiene services to aid patients in and maintaining optimal oral health.
Megan, Dental Hygienist
Megan was born in South Korea and came to the United States when she was three years old. She started her dental career as a dental assistant, which she did for eight years, four of which was with Dr. Schlactus. She then decided to go to Dental Hygiene school where she received the coveted "golden scaler" award from Baltimore City Community College in 2004. She has returned to Dr. Schlactus for the past two years and continues to provide superstar thoroughness with a soft, gentle touch.
Robert, Dental Assistant
Robert has over 12 years experience in dentistry. He spent four years of active duty service with the army and eight years with the Army Reserve at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Robert has also completed 500 hours of training in massage therapy and body works and is working towards his certification. Robert's friendly and comforting demeanor will put even the most apprehensive patients at ease.
